BILL COMPUTATION:

Lansdale Borough has been excluded, along with other Pennsylvania municipal run electric utilities, from electric deregulation as provided through Pennsylvania State Law. As long as Lansdale Borough does not seek to attract customers outside its jurisdiction, all electric users living within Borough limits must use Lansdale Electric as their electric supply company.

Customer Charge:
$16.00
This monthly charge for all electric customers covers the overhead costs of bill production and partial funding for future capital projects.

Consumption Charge:
$0.1994/kWh

RATE HISTORY:

  • November 2025 the Borough Council approved a 15% rate increase due to nationwide rising power and capacity charges; this increase not only allows the Borough to keep up with rising wholesale prices, but assures we continue to provide reliable service 
  • In May 2025 a 5% increase was approved by Council that you can read about here and see how Lansdale rates compare to other local utilities
  • Two rate increases in the previous ten years: one in 2008 just under 4 cents per KWH and one in 2015 roughly 1.5 cents per KWH
  • Customer charge increase from $6 to $12 in 2010
  • With the 10.44% rate increase in 2015 the Customer charge is $13.25
  • 2013 removed the hot water and space heat rates
  • 2013 revamped chapter 65 no rate or charge increase
