The Public Works Department sponsors three leaf pickup periods each year. Two pickups are scheduled each fall and one pickup is scheduled each spring. In the fall, the pickup periods are the second full week in November and the first full week of December. In the spring, the schedule can vary due to weather. Notices are mailed to all residents several weeks prior to the pickup. These notices advise the resident of which section of town they live in and what their scheduled pickup days will be. Residents are required to place their leaves in Kraft type paper bags. Residents must place the bags where they normally place their household waste for pickup.

Borough residents may drop off yard waste at the Utilities Complex (9th Street and Moyers Road) throughout the year.
